Wholehearted

Do I have the qualities of courage, the compassion, the connection and the vulnerability to be Wholehearted?  Sometimes I am not sure about that, but after listening to Brene Brown on www.TED.com  Ideas Worth Spreading, I became curious about being Wholehearted.  Through her in-depth research she felt that these profound qualities were the common factors in being a Wholehearted person.

As Ms. Brown says, “Vulnerability is the birthplace of creativity”.

I was inspired by her delightful, and short video.  I came away feeling that I am courageous, I am compassionate, and I generate deep connections with self and others. I sometimes question my capacity to be vulnerable, to be open, to be human, to being fully wholehearted.  To be vulnerable is to be alive – now, that feels scary!  To be vulnerable I need to take down my “guard”, this protective wall that has defined me and gotten me to where I am today.  I have been taking baby steps.  The most challenging part of this, is that I need to trust enough in myself, to feel secure enough in myself to allow myself to be deeply seen.  In trusting enough, I am willing to give me a chance to become “fully functioning” to be wholehearted, to be authentic.  My hope is that you find connection for yourself, and that, perhaps we can connect with each other!
